In this letter, McLean suggests that Martin should have his orange orchards pruned and trimmed thoroughly due to a "white scale bug" infestation. McLean offers to do the pruning for a fee.

Edward McLean was born in Victor, Colorado, in 1905 and spent many years in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He had three careers - that of a dancer, a master bookbinder, and a publisher.
